Scholars & Alumni

Whether you are a current scholar or fellow or an alumnus, let us keep you informed of major news and events as well as opportunities to participate in the broader GAF community.

George Alexander hoped GAF scholars would connect and have the opportunity to share experiences and learn from each other. With the advent of social media, this hope is easily converted to reality. You can stay connected with the Foundation and other scholars or fellows by joining our LinkedIn group, liking our page on Facebook or following us on Instagram. We hope all GAF students will join our social channels and use them to connect with other GAF scholars, both past and present.

Similarly, hundreds of GAF alumni are now 'at large' in the community, applying their talents and passions to a huge range of endeavours and contributing to the community in various capacities. In keeping with the GAF community spirit, we would love to keep in touch with graduate GAF scholars as they move into the next chapters of their lives, and for them to share their experiences with new and current GAF scholars.

If you are a GAF scholar or alumnus, please register your contact details with us at so you can receive our e-newsletter Campus. You can also join the GAF group on LinkedIn to network with other GAF alumni.

You can always see an overview of the latest posts from our social channels on the Our Community page. We are also always looking for new GAF stories to put on the website so write and tell us your GAF story.

It's all part of George's dream of 'planting seeds and hoping they grow into pretty big trees'. We look forward to hearing from you.

Donate The scholars and fellows supported through the GAF-funded programs are committed to their studies, to giving back to the community and to doing their utmost to uphold the investment that has been made in them. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
