Deakin University

GAF scholarships through Deakin University (Warrnambool and Geelong) aim to assist students who demonstrate strong academic standing, participation in the community as well as leadership experience.

The George Alexander Foundation Scholarships Program began at Deakin University in 2006 to support students enrolled at the Geelong or Warrnambool campuses.

The scholarships are intended to contribute to the living support expenses of talented students who are residing away from home in order to undertake undergraduate studies at one of Deakin's regional campuses. Potential GAF scholars will be able to demonstrate academic ability, community involvement and leadership experience.

From 2016 to 2018, five GAF scholarships will be awarded annually, each valued at $24,000 over a three or four year course.

"I hope I am fortunate enough to be able to financially support students in the future as a testimony to this scholarship... I aim to ensure that my children understand the power of giving and assisting others to achieve their goals."

Further details on how to apply for GAF scholarships at Deakin can be found on the Deakin University website.
